<image:caption>Tobias Keene, D.D.S. Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. <image:title>What I teach - My method</image:title>
<image:caption>Learning new skills can be frustrating. Frustration can bring tension. Tension is bad for making music. To alleviate this problem, I follow a three step process for teaching new skills/styles. Activation - We activate the correct muscles using easy to follow technique exercises. Preparation - We prepare ourselves for success by practicing simplified versions of the skills we want to master. Initiation - We are initiated into a new way of playing using the most common rhythms of that style.</image:caption>

      <image:title>What I teach - How I use digital technology….</image:title>
<image:caption>I am always trying to find new ways to use digital technology to benefit my students. Some of my favorites are: Using a digital Drumset so we can explore any type of sound we want and easily record student performances Making personalized instructional videos for my students Using a slo-mo camera to highlight bad playing habits Using a metronome app to guide and time practice sessions Sharing youtube videos and playlists Making practice music to guide my students Making and sharing instructional videos on youtube</image:caption>
